We Timed 27 Casino Withdrawals – Does "Instant Payout" Actually Mean Instant?

You’ve finished playing, decided to cash out and opened your banking app, perhaps a little optimistically. With “instant payout” in mind, expecting the money before you put your phone down hardly seems unreasonable. Uploading your ID and waiting for someone to approve the request probably wasn’t the ending you had pictured.

We went back through 27 withdrawal records from our own casino tests to see how close the experience came to that expectation. Our verdict is that “instant” sets the wrong expectation for a first cashout. Even when the chosen payment method could deliver the money quickly, it still took time for the casino to release it.

What caught our attention was how much waiting could disappear from a headline withdrawal time. At LuckyVibe, our request was approved in an hour and 15 minutes. That sounds reasonably quick, and we thought so too, but we had already spent around seven hours getting the account verified the previous day. We’d already done the long wait before we even asked for our money.

That left us rather less interested in the word “instant” and more interested in a question we think deserves an answer beside it: when does the casino start counting?

The Wait We Tend to Leave Out

We often complete KYC early. It saves dealing with documents just when they are ready to withdraw, but it can make the cashout itself look much quicker than the experience of a newly registered player.

LuckyVibe is a good example, as verification took about seven hours. The following day, our MiFinity withdrawal was approved in an hour and 15 minutes. Both figures belong in the story, even though the longer wait happened before we pressed the withdrawal button.

AustralianStakes withdrawal tests: verification takes longer than payout approval
These are separate recorded waits, not one continuous timeline. The graph uses ten examples where verification was completed before the withdrawal, and both durations were available. The individual figures and sources appear in the table below.

First withdrawals were encouraging, too. At 7Bit, the casino completed verification and approved our USDT cashout in about two and a half hours altogether. We would happily call that a quick first withdrawal. It still would not justify telling a new player that their money is immediately available.

Lucky Dreams is another useful example, where its KYC check took about five and a half hours, with the cashier clearing the Litecoin payout a few minutes later. As you can tell, reporting only those last few minutes would leave out almost the entire wait.

This is also why we have not rolled every review into one average payout time. Some records cover verification and approval together; others begin with an already verified account. Mixing those figures would give us a tidy number without a consistent meaning.

Approval Is Not Always The Finish

The approval email shown in our Bizzo review makes the distinction quite plainly. It confirms that the casino has approved the cashout, then says the money will arrive once the payment provider processes the transaction. At that point, the casino has given the go-ahead, but the player is still waiting to be paid.

At HellSpin, for example, our PayID withdrawal took two hours and 15 minutes to clear. The money arrived another 25 minutes later. Verification had already been completed earlier, so it was not part of that two-hour-and-40-minute withdrawal window.

These four examples include an approximate arrival time after approval. Earlier KYC was excluded. The second segment shows the reported wait after approval, not a separately measured payment-network speed.

Goldenbet is a reminder that even a reasonably quick approval does not finish the job. Our MiFinity request was approved in just under two hours, followed by roughly another hour before the money appeared. Calling that a two-hour withdrawal would describe the casino’s decision, not the full wait for the funds.

Crypto and PayID Still Had to Wait

Choosing USDT did not produce one predictable approval time:

All three examples came after verification had been completed.

With Godz, the request went in during the late afternoon and was approved and sent the next morning. In other words, using crypto didn’t remove that overnight wait. Whatever speed the final transfer offered, it could only help after the casino released the payment.

PayID casinos produced a similar contrast. Kingmaker approved our withdrawal in around 90 minutes, whereas Slotrave took about ten hours. These were different accounts and verification circumstances, so they are not a controlled comparison of the payment method. They do show why choosing PayID alone is not enough to predict when a casino will approve a cashout.

There is another detail worth checking before depositing. Our PayID deposit at Godz was credited immediately, but PayID was not available for withdrawals, so after we made another deposit, we cashed out through USDT instead.

The final column shows the wait for approval or release, unless another endpoint is stated. “Including KYC” means verification is already included in that figure. The KYC and withdrawal columns should not automatically be added together, and approximate timings remain approximate.

“Instant Payouts” Are Never Actually Instant

After requesting 27 payouts at 27 different Australian online casinos, one thing is apparent: None of the payouts arrived instantly in our accounts, whether we withdrew with crypto, PayID, or MiFinity.

Some were fast, some took a few hours, and others we had to wait until the next day.

Our goal with this test is to educate players about the actual waiting time involved when requesting a payout, and that getting your winnings into your account within minutes is rarely going to happen.

The verdict? Waiting for a few hours – especially if you haven’t completed KYC – is completely fine. We’d become worried when approval takes more than 24 hours.
